New Paint pending, should I get rid of the rubber door guards? 1973 240z

And the mud flaps need to be on if you want to protect the paint. They are easily removable (10 screws total) and with the wider wheels/tires that most of us are running the capacity for throwing gravel is increased.

One more thing... You could buy a modern low profile bumper guard (from paint shop NOT JCW) that could be painted to match and then applied with 3M tape. Think Infinity G37... With no holes drilled, you can always remove later.
