ZCurves Posted April 1, 2012 Author Share #13 Posted April 1, 2012 Zcurves I am about to install triples and I will have to redo my fuel system again. I will check out the fuel filter to see if any yellow stuff came off.Perfect, thank you. Walter Moore Posted April 1, 2012 Share #14 Posted April 1, 2012 I took my tank to a local radiator shop back when I was rebuilding the car. They boiled it out, and said that it came out of the bath so full of holes that they didn't have to drain it, it just flowed through the holes. They coated it inside an out with something. I have no idea what it was called, but it worked great and doesn't leak. (Knock on wood, throw salt, whatever...) It comes down to this: Do you trust the shop doing the work? ryanonthevedder Posted April 1, 2012 Share #15 Posted April 1, 2012 For what its worth, I had a heated shop to work in when I refinished the tank. I recently serviced the elec fuel pump and found no evidence of failure after about 8 months of having gas in the tank. As I said before, I was amazed at how clean I was able to get the inside of the tank; it looked like new metal and only cost a gallon of muriatic acid. You can find it in many hardware stores as it is used to wash bricks and tiles. After all that I just followed the instructions in the POR15 kit.
