Phacade Posted January 22, 2003 Share #1 Posted January 22, 2003 Check these out with the caption "I am told they are the ones people want."This actually should go under the jokes section.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2400643082&category=33550 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/4384-flat-tops/ Share on other sites
peterc Posted January 22, 2003 Share #2 Posted January 22, 2003 If anyone actually bids on them the should be made to wear them as ear-rings (the Z version of a dunce hat ). Or to dangle them from their testicles! :devious: Maybe THAT would teach them a lesson about how "they are the ones people want." Royce Posted January 22, 2003 Share #4 Posted January 22, 2003 I think this person is confusing flat top pistons with flat top carbs. However, if someone wants to show their car in a stock category and has a '73 240 or 260Z at least they can get a spare set of carbs cheap. Because they are probably going to need all the spares they can get to keep the thing running. Then again, all it takes is one person to figure them out and win a race with them and everyone would probably start buying them up! My friend has a '73 with them and it still runs well. I don't think I would stay with them because there is not as much info or parts available. Especially if engine modifications are planned. Victor Laury Posted January 22, 2003 Share #5 Posted January 22, 2003 I was a bit confused during a Z introduction phase. My L-4 and A motors knowledge is that "flat Tops" "Tuna Cans" were JDM "GX" SU's and highly desirable for your L-18 or A-14 GX mighty mouseBut, those were very different than these "Hitachis", "Flattops", "boat anchors" "Smog demons" Whatever Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/4384-flat-tops/#findComment-24195 Share on other sites
Ed Posted January 22, 2003 Share #6 Posted January 22, 2003 You definately need those if you have a boat. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/4384-flat-tops/#findComment-24241 Share on other sites
2ManyZs Posted January 22, 2003 Share #7 Posted January 22, 2003 Or his ad was aimed at members of those "other" Z sites.... :devious: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/4384-flat-tops/#findComment-24242 Share on other sites
