I cant get this to start. I thought it had bad gas in from sitting but its fresh and doesnt smell raw. The PO said they have been fresh gas with stabilizer to it. Will start on carb cleaner but only run on whats sprayed into the carb. I took the outgoing line off the fuel pump to check pressure by plugging the hole with my finger. When I do that I no force at all trying to push my finger off the hole. The fuel filter and fuel pump are bone dry. Fuel pump or clogged fuel line? What the fuel pressure supposed to be?

if your car just has a mechanical pump, it made need to be primed.

You can try filling the float bowls for each carb to get it to run then it should draw enough fuel to the pump... or you can run from a gerry-can to the engine fuel filter... be sure to have the return line from the fuel rail go back to the gerry can.

Check your hose/lines to tank by blowing into it at fuel filter inlet and at fuel rail outlet. You should hear bubbles in the tank.

How do you prime the fuel pump? How do fill the float bowls in the carb?

OK. Worked this some more today. Fuel pump is pumping gas from lawnmower gas tank. Both carbs might have been gummed up little bit from sitting. After working with carbs on the moving parts I got carb to get gas then later the 2nd to follow. Got it to staying with the lawnmower gas tank. Gonna replace fuel filter and blow out the gas lines. Some reason its not starting off its own tank of gas. Also found that both belts are bad too and could break anytime.

Dave,

As you are waking up your Z, you might want to download a copy of the service manual from the link in my signature.

OK thanks. I ordered one on CD. The you guys were talking about 2years ago. Thats how I found this place.
