darom Posted September 25, 2012 Share #25 Posted September 25, 2012 Remote shot, but it is worth checking - examine your vacuum hose from the brake booster going to your intake. There is one-way check valve. Maybe you are loosing vacuum on that side, however you would have probably noticed it due to a different brake pedal resistance feel.Did the new FPR resolve the issue? darom Posted September 26, 2012 Share #27 Posted September 26, 2012 I don't think a vacuum leak will cause a rich condition. On the contrary, it probably should lean his mixture out. What I suggested was in response to the OP's low vacuum readings. I hope he posts his solution to the problem to close the thread and give Z fans another thing to check :-) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/44442-still-runs-rich/?page=3#findComment-402663 Share on other sites
mjr45 Posted September 29, 2012 Author Share #28 Posted September 29, 2012 Changed the FPR and didn't seem to make much difference but I only ran it for a few minutes. In going thru the EFI Bible checks, I got some off ohm readings on the AFM resistance checks, one should be about 180 mine was 240, the second check should be about 100 mine was 112. In doing the fuel system pressure found the CSV was non working, no fuel getting to it at all, the fuel pressure bleed down to 0 in about 10 seconds, but I am sure the pressure gauge was leaking fuel, initial pressure was about 38 with engine off. The TPS checked OK. So bottom line is I'm stuck and can't figure this b**ch out! ZCurves Posted October 3, 2012 Share #29 Posted October 3, 2012 (edited) Sorry, I have been lurking on this thread for a while...I don't know if this was covered before, but have you checked the Continuity between the wiring harness/ECU and Temp/Thermotime respectively? You have replaced/inspected them but if there is a broken connection, the ECU could still be kicking up the fuel... mjr45 Posted October 4, 2012 Author Share #30 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) Nope haven't checked but will, thanks. I'm seriously thinking of changing to a MegaSquirt.
