Machine shop in Northern California or Bay Area

I need my N42 head serviced but there are no reputable machine shops in my immediate area. Can anyone recommend a machine shop with datsun experience in the northern California or bay area?

This should be interesting as I plan to get some machine work done on a block and head. The default suggestion is to go to Rebello, but not everyone needs that. Piggy-backing on this thread, has anyone used any machine shops on the Peninsula with success?

Funny: LeonV I totally expected you to hop on here and give a recommendation since you're in the area. I assumed Rebello was going to be overkill but while their website is fancy, I havent heard anyone recommend them yet.

I haven't used one personally, although my dad has had a (VW) head done somewhere in SJ I think? There are plenty around, but the only Z-specific, i.e. worked on Z stuff before, recommendation I've gotten is Rebello.

Most people I know recommend Rebello to me, I know Oiluj was very happy with his engine and the work that they did. He probably shopped around so might have a few other places to try.

When it came to my engine, Rebello was the only choice. They know the L-Series engines inside-out, and know how to improve performance without comprimising reliability.

That said, I imagine any good head shop can handle your head work, assuming you are sticking with stock parts. They are really pretty simple to rebuild. Look for cracks, check flatness and don't let them shave too much off if it needs to be re-surfaced...

have u tried Gromm in San Jose. They did a perfect job on my E31 about 10 nyears ago and it still perfect. Do expect overnight work but what you get back is well wroth the price.

I'm thinking about something to my N42 head. How about "Cylinder Head Unlimited"? It's quite low price service.

The review @ Yelp is pretty good.

If you don't mind a trip out to the valley, I've used Valley Balancing in Ceres with excellent results.

Ceres is like 20 minutes from my house, ill give them a shot to convince me.
