zbay Posted January 30, 2003 Share #1 Posted January 30, 2003 Here is a new site created to assist in the search for parts, accessories, and Zcars for sale. The site is www.zbaymotors.com. It is an auction style format similar to Ebay. The site is free to bid, buy, or sell anything related to Zcars. All parts can be listed in their respective category, which will simplify searches. The site also has a site search to find what your looking for fast. Feedback rating system similar to Ebay will hopefully help in respect to security in purchases. Enjoy! EScanlon Posted February 1, 2003 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2003 The site looks good and promising. However, I would caution you to check with a lawyer to make sure that you won't be liable for trademark infringement with e-Bay. Yes, I know, it's NOT spelled ~exactly~ the same, but the courts have sided with Starbucks against a small coffee shop called Sam Buck's in Oregon. With a name such as Z-Bay, the similarity to e-Bay, both are auction sites, both operate on the same principles and manners, I'm afraid that you would find an injunction against you would be the LEAST you could expect. Why not something such as Z-Buy?I like the idea, a Z only web-site, however, I'd hate to hear that you got into legal hazzles with someone with more money than you to throw at those bottom feeding lawyers.FWIW my 2¢ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/4484-new-auction-site-z-cars-and-parts/#findComment-25265 Share on other sites

EScanlon Posted February 1, 2003 Share #4 Posted February 1, 2003 Nigel you're right, except that Z-Bay is in Oklahoma and e-Bay is someplace in the U.S. and........Now, if he could get it hosted at a server in Australia......are you voluteering? Bambikiller240 Posted February 1, 2003 Share #5 Posted February 1, 2003 Is this really needed? Arizona240z Posted February 1, 2003 Share #6 Posted February 1, 2003 Somebody tried doing this a couple months ago and it flopped. Ebay has the recognition and trust that an auction site needs to be succesful. There are already plenty of people on Ebay trying to sell overpriced Z parts, do we need another place? "Zbay" while in theory is a good idea, I don't see anything that differentiates it from Ebay that would make it a strong competitor to Ebay. Dwight I still think there are too many people on Ebay trying to "inflate" the value of Z parts.
