Hi-

I am from Vero Beach. Florida which is about half way down the east coast. I have had 4 Zs, a 74 260, a 86 300, a 87 300 and my current driver a 1978 280Z. I found the 280z over the net. It was owned by an airline pilot who took great care of it. It was all original including the paint. A neighbor backed in the right front of the car. I had to replace the bumper and the right hand headlight case. At this point I decided to have it repainted. It looked great. The paint shop that painted it had a problem with the clear coat that they used and have agreed to repaint the roof, hatch, doors and hood. There is rust beginning on the front apron, top cowl grill and right headlight case. I am looking for new or used examples of these pieces. Any help will be appreciated. Also is there some anti rust spray that I can put on the inside of the car to kill any rust before it gets worse?

Regards

Fury

This is what I've been using and it's fairly easy, leaves a black coating over the rust spots. SEM Products 69504 Rust Mort Rust Preventive Coating Black 1 Qt Each | eBay Look at the pics in post #2. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/open-zcar-discussion/48337-280z-rebuild-ground-up.html He has some new metal from Tabco. I am going to do some research on those myself as I need the plate at the back of hatch replaced. Here's Tabco's site http://www.tabcobodyparts.com/html/table_of_contents.htm scroll down until Datsun 240,260,280. Pretty good prices it looks like. Click on the camera icon to see the part.

Welcome aboard too.
