Zachary Lawson Posted February 13, 2013 Share #1 Posted February 13, 2013 The following may not be connected to each other. I've been having problems with few electrical things. My tack hang only works sometimes. The dash light above the air controls work sometimes. My car misses at idle. Sometimes my fuel pump like to run really hard, but if you turn the key off and back on it stops. One thing I noticed is when it's running hard. I can turn on my turn signals and it will get quieter each time the signals beep. Would any of the above be related to each other? EuroDat Posted February 13, 2013 Share #2 Posted February 13, 2013 I have had strange problems like this on another car. Every now and then when I used the turn signals the wipers would work once. That sort of thing. I finally found the problem in the grounds. A lot of the ground wires had corrosion and two wre loose. It might be causing some of your problems.Chas Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/45693-electrical-problems/#findComment-414917 Share on other sites
SteveJ Posted February 13, 2013 Share #3 Posted February 13, 2013 In addition to checking your grounds, check your fusible links for corrosion. as they get corroded they will heat up, limiting current flow. Also, please put the year of your car in your post. While you have it in your profile, it helps to have it in the post so we have a better idea of the differences in your car.
