Z Greek Posted April 22, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 22, 2013 I have not posted here for awhile. I have been building a budget endurance racer (Chumpcar). I put some color on her yesterday, and thought I'd share a few pictures. It's certainly no show car, but it turned out pretty good. CW240Z Posted April 22, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 22, 2013 Looks great! I've been interested in doing this racing series with a Z. What have you done to yours to get it ready for the track? Z Greek Posted April 22, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted April 22, 2013 (edited) your taste in racing livery's is just about as good as it gets.I would have also accepted any Martini Rossi red/white/blue themesThanks, My two lifelong "car buddies" are responsible for the scheme. They came over Friday night (drove from Seattle, 300 miles to where I live in Spokane), and we were done by Saturday at 4pm. I could have spent a little more time on prep, but it is a Chumpcar! Car was a mess. Lot's of "ghetto" bodywork. I bought the car complete for $300 as a parts car. After I took everything I wanted for my street car, there was so much left, I had to do something with it. So it became a Chumpcar! TomoHawk Posted April 22, 2013 Share #6 Posted April 22, 2013 the paint scheme looks like one from a familiar Italian brand; it only needs a little horse badge on the fender. We have a similar endurance race at Nelson Ledges called the 24 hours of Lemons, where you are allowed to spend only about $500. They did once in 2009, but now only ChumpCar runs there. I've run the LeMons race there as well as the ChumpCar races there. What have you done to yours to get it ready for the track? ChaseThere are lots of Chump and LeMons racers in TX. The best way to learn about the racing is to go watch a race. I can hook you up with a fellow Z racer from TX if you are interested. As for mods, check out my FB page in my sig for what I've done to mine. Jeff G 78 Posted April 23, 2013 Share #10 Posted April 23, 2013 Hey Andy. Your paint is looking great. We still need to talk. I have to have a definitive plan for the engine shop.
