vintage 72 A-R-A A/C unit and lower radiator hose clearance

Re-installing my vintage A-R-A A/C unit that was on the car when I purchased it 8 (wow how time flies) years ago. When I replaced the hoses I remember the original cloth braided hose was pretty beat up looking. With Re-installing the a/c compressor I am seeing that there is a clearance issue with the rear of the compressor and the lower radiator hose. The hose appears to be pushed as far as it will fo on each the lower radiator and the engine connection pipe. Any suggestions that don't involve leaving the a/c unit off the car? This is the correct hose for my 1972 240Z as it came from MSA.
