madkaw Posted August 19, 2013 Share #25 Posted August 19, 2013 Is the fenders you ordered Nissans? You made a wise choice in avoiding the fender repair. Those patch panels would have eaten a ton of time and would have been extremely hard to make look good.I'd be suspicious of the fit of aftermarket fenders Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/47115-280z-full-restore-in-5-months-hopefully/?page=3#findComment-430049 Share on other sites

Nissan wanted $770 something out the door and Black Dragon was $500 something. They come in today, I'll let you know how they look and if they are OEM. EuroDat Posted August 19, 2013 Share #28 Posted August 19, 2013 That air cleaner looks brilliant. Did you sand blast it before painting it? LeonV Posted August 19, 2013 Share #29 Posted August 19, 2013 Since you're on a time-budget, you should know that you probably won't get those Tokicos anytime soon unless you found a place that had them in stock. Tokico's distributor went out of business so there haven't been any new shocks delivered to the US for a while now, AFAIK. Hopefully the website wasn't lying. If it was, I'm not sure what I'll do. CG240Z Posted August 19, 2013 Author Share #32 Posted August 19, 2013 Got the fenders in today. Don't have a chance to check them out, but my Dad sent me a picture. He said they look great. No OEM Nissan sticker on them, so I'm assuming they are aftermarket. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/47115-280z-full-restore-in-5-months-hopefully/?page=3#findComment-430070 Share on other sites
ollie Posted August 19, 2013 Share #33 Posted August 19, 2013 Just an FYI, I bought original NISSAN front fenders and the brackets did not match, these were even covered in NISSAN wrapping. Point being, no matter where the panels come from there will be the need for fittment. Hopefully I'll get them mocked up soon to see how they fit. CG240Z Posted August 20, 2013 Author Share #35 Posted August 20, 2013 Tonight I ordered black seat skins with the embroidered "Z" on the head rest with matching e-brake/ shift boot. I'm switching the interior to black so here's the first step. Making progress!!!
