xs10shl Posted September 14, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 14, 2013 The 240ZG with the L24 might be worth close to the asking price if it's factory. The other's seem a little rich, but they're worth what someone will pay for them. Rocky also has a top C10 GTR available for $220K: Æ’XÆ’JÆ’Cƒ‰ƒCƒ“ GT-R S20 - ‹ŒŽÔÂE–¼ŽÔ(Æ’nÆ’RÆ’XÆ’JÂEÆ’Pƒ“ƒÂÆ’Å ÂEÆ’tÆ’FÆ’AÆ’Å’Æ’fÆ’BÂ[ZÂEGT-R)‚ÌÂê–å“X Æ’ÂÆ’bÆ’LÂ[Æ’IÂ[Æ’gAnd a driver C110 GTR for $230K: Æ’XÆ’JÆ’Cƒ‰ƒCƒ“ - ‹ŒŽÔÂE–¼ŽÔ(Æ’nÆ’RÆ’XÆ’JÂEÆ’Pƒ“ƒÂÆ’Å ÂEÆ’tÆ’FÆ’AÆ’Å’Æ’fÆ’BÂ[ZÂEGT-R)‚ÌÂê–å“X Æ’ÂÆ’bÆ’LÂ[Æ’IÂ[Æ’gAsking prices are noticeably higher than a few years ago. guaro Posted September 15, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted September 15, 2013 Those price tags are crazy money , interesting to see more money for modified Z's than originals type early Z. Seems that in the US a converted Z is less desirable in comparison . I wonder if this trend of well built modified Z's will be duplicated in the US. In recent auctions I have observed that resto/mods classic cars are commanding more than the originals . You're making the mistake of judging the whole Japanese market solely on what you see at Rocky Auto. The biggest real money in Japan ( as opposed to simply 'asking prices' at Rocky Auto ) is going to the best, most original / correct / restored / concours cars, just as it always has. "Z cars in Japan commanding big bucks" is not news... Maybe because they are more rare, of has to do with economic prices? The ones that go for crazy money are super detailed/well built examples and the so called originals are commanding less money.:bulb: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/47412-z-cars-in-japan-commanding-big-bucks/#findComment-431742 Share on other sites

HS30-H Posted September 15, 2013 Share #9 Posted September 15, 2013 Rocky Auto is a world unto itself. It doesn't tell you very much about Japan. Just about Rocky Auto.Rocky Auto is not "Japan". Rocky Auto is merely one aspect of the old Z scene in Japan. hr369 Posted September 15, 2013 Share #11 Posted September 15, 2013 Current bid is 15,000 usd on this rb26 swap of questionable condition and workmanship. On ebay it would probably go for 8-12k. Take that silly 432 wannabe badge off and it may go for more. This is an example of the lower end of the market there. Bottom line is if it doesn't look and smell like brand new the Japanese won't pay top dollar for anything. They don't like old used stuff. ??????????????????????? - ????!
