Discount Tire question

I can get a good deal on wheels and tires if I use their credit program. Has anybody done this? is there any hidden fees? I can pay it off within the 6 months allowed. Thanks for any replies.

I was able to negotiate a reduced price on a wheel and tire pkg. at Discount 2 yrs. ago and used my own credit card. At the time they were also running a sales tax "holiday" promotion and BFG was running a rebate. So I hit three markdowns/saves in one deal.

I just took delivery for my BMW X6 on tires from Discount Tire Direct but did not use their credit system. I have bought all my tires for the past couple years from them with no issues at all. Never had any issues at all.

Using their cc system is a good way to establish credit. Make sure to pay off at least a couple months early.

Thank you all for your replies. With the credit rebates and the $50 online rebate I can get a set of 16x7 with 205/55s for $629, lug nut kit off ebay for Panasports and Konigs $27. I'll call and see if I can Huckleberry a deal with sales and pay with Visa, I DESPISE GE CAPITAL, they're evil people.

Our Government should use Discount Tire as a role model, top notch company with a great online process. I couldn't get a salesperson to match the online rebates so I'll cross my fingers GE Capital has made changes now that the economy is so slow.

Walk into the store with cash and get a discount. It saves them at least 2% by not sliding a credit card and they are usually willing to pass that savings on.

I have bought tires for all my rides from them for the last 20 years and had nothing but great experiences. Great customer service too. I think the 'No Interest" credit deal is fine - you just have to plan ahead and payoff early!!
