Choke lever mount broken under console

Recommended Posts

Here's what I did:

That's very similar to what is on my 240 from Cullman, AL.  Have you ever dealt with Paul's Auto Shop, Green Cove Road Huntsville, AL?  I have receipts from where some other work was done from there in 2000.

I purchased the bracket a couple years ago & it works great!

My mechanic installed the bracket but when pulling the choke the yellow light is not turning on! Could he left something loose or not wired?

@Jarvo2 I have fought with those wires to the choke light switch all day today and still haven't mounted it down tight.  I remembered your post and found this picture and I will try this route in the morning.

Thank you!

That worked great.

My console has been out so long I don't remember why the passenger's side has outward sections? One big one by the e-brake handle and another smaller one to the right of the shift rod. The choke knob holds the driver's side down nice and snug but the passenger's side is a little loose. I will look tomorrow in the brightness of daylight and look for a screw hole I may have missed. I have 3 screws in the rear section and the two on the sides by the radio.

Having the console back after a year or so is sorta weird feeling but it looks good. Very happy with it. Thanks again Jarvo for the picture of those wires.

I'm going for a long drive in the morning. I got tired of pussyfooting it and got close to redline today and nothing flew apart so I'm gonna call it a successful rebuild.

Thanks for everybody's help!
