hatepotholez Posted December 20, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 20, 2014 Hello everyone, I was doing some research on swapping out some wires in the harnesses. I couldn't match the Z's wiring gauge to the AWG standard, I later found out the wiring in the Z is under the AVS standards. For example the main ground and green wire going to the fuel sending unit are AVG2 which is 26 strands and each strand measured at .32mm. The AVG2 converts to a 14 AWG wire. They go by increments of 2 for the AWG. Here is the AVS standards website:http://www.seaps.com.sg/cables/cab_general_avs.htm and most conversions is on page 15:http://www.sacramentoelectronics.com/images/bussmann/specialty_catalogs/BUSS_Auto-OEM.pdf If I am incorrect, please correct me!! madkaw Posted December 21, 2014 Share #2 Posted December 21, 2014 If you are asking whether the fuel pump wires are 14 gauge , then yes I think you are correct. As long as you use a quality stranded wire and don't undersize you should be good.
