[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?

Recommended Posts

salt trucks out on the weekend. zed put away till spring. :(

Me too, last weekend. Pulled the battery too and brought inside.

See you have a TR6. I had a 1969. Wish I could find it a buy it back.

Car was sold to couple  in Illinois in the 70's then disappeared. Could be in Canada

for all I know. Ha.

Pulled the fuel pump and cleaned it up, sandblasted the exterior case and fired it up with a tub of CLR to clean the insides out. Ran like a top and purred like a kitten! It's nice having a bench top power supply for these things....

Sanded and scraped the topside and louvers of the cowl today. When I pulled the original pads from the backside, moisture had crept under them. It looked good on the front side but after removing a fair amount of rust from the back, I have four 1/16" rust holes on each side to fill. Shouldn't be too bad, at least it's straight. BTW there are 40 louvers in Z cowls. Kinda figures.

Got some shiny bits back!attachicon.gifimage.jpeg

Wow, three very nice inspection lights.  If you mount all three ... you can say you are running triples  LOL

Best of luck on the motor work, must be your winter project.

I didn't touch the Z today, but I did buy two sets of 15x7 Konig Rewind wheels for the race car.  They are $100 off at Discount Tire Direct with free shipping.  $360/set after rebate.

Bad scratch in one cylinder, feel good that i desided to open up the engine before putting triple carbs on it. Looks like it has oversized pistons 0,5 mm and the cam has shims. The head has the bigger valves to. post-22076-0-72959900-1448655488_thumb.jpost-22076-0-20477200-1448655508_thumb.jpost-22076-0-04834900-1448655537_thumb.jpost-22076-0-48664100-1448655556_thumb.j
