wheee! Posted November 24, 2015 Share #410 Posted November 24, 2015 Pulled the fuel pump and cleaned it up, sandblasted the exterior case and fired it up with a tub of CLR to clean the insides out. Ran like a top and purred like a kitten! It's nice having a bench top power supply for these things.... Mark Maras Posted November 24, 2015 Share #411 Posted November 24, 2015 Sanded and scraped the topside and louvers of the cowl today. When I pulled the original pads from the backside, moisture had crept under them. It looked good on the front side but after removing a fair amount of rust from the back, I have four 1/16" rust holes on each side to fill. Shouldn't be too bad, at least it's straight. BTW there are 40 louvers in Z cowls. Kinda figures. moelk Posted November 27, 2015 Share #419 Posted November 27, 2015 (edited) Bad scratch in one cylinder, feel good that i desided to open up the engine before putting triple carbs on it. Looks like it has oversized pistons 0,5 mm and the cam has shims. The head has the bigger valves to.
