pvtdavid Posted January 2, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 2, 2015 So it has been a few years since I have posted anything on this site because I was a few states away from my car. In those 2 years or so all I was able to do was research and collect a sizable amount of parts. Within the last few months I have moved closer to my car and now have the ability to work on it a little at a time. So as an update here is what I have been able to do over the last few months. I move the z into the garage and over a few days stripped it down to a bare shell. 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/50717-74-260z/ Share on other sites
pvtdavid Posted January 2, 2015 Author Share #2 Posted January 2, 2015 Once I had it stripped I had it completely sand/soda blasted to remove all the old paint and rust to see exactly what I was dealing with and of course found more rust spots than I thought I had. Once the it was clean I shot it with an epoxy primer and sent it to the body shop. While it has been at the shop I have been keeping myself busy rebuilding the wire harness from scratch updating the fuse box and adding/removing wires as needed Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/50717-74-260z/#findComment-461188 Share on other sites
Oiluj Posted January 3, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 3, 2015 It's going to be nice. Will it be the same color? I saw a 240Z with a metallic brown almost the same as the stock color, but deeper with more of what I call a "root beer" color. It looked great! pvtdavid Posted January 4, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted January 4, 2015 Its not staying the factory color. It is being changed to the gtr metallic grey color. I wish I would have known what the factory color looked like new because I might have gone back to it Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/50717-74-260z/#findComment-461257 Share on other sites
