filletsunruly Posted January 8, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 8, 2015 A friend of mine influenced me a lot lately this days. He is really into energy conservation and recycling. I appreciate him talking about this days though at times I find everything too idealistic. Yesterday, while we were driving around, he told me to consider a more "nature-friendly" kind of fuel to use instead. I did not give it a thought before but I am actually considering it. Can you give me any inputs about this kind of fuel? Is it more expensive/efficient than the regular ones? SteveJ Posted January 8, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 8, 2015 Gasoline is the cheapest and best (especially if it is ethanol free) fuel you can run in your Z. psdenno Posted January 15, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 15, 2015 "Nature friendly" fuel could be hydrogen, natural gas, or even farm animal waste. Ask your friend where he fills up his tank.Dennis 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/50744-nature-friendly-fuel/#findComment-461887 Share on other sites

siteunseen Posted January 15, 2015 Share #6 Posted January 15, 2015 Me too. Makes me want to drive my Z instead of working on it all the time. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/50744-nature-friendly-fuel/#findComment-461910 Share on other sites
psdenno Posted January 15, 2015 Share #7 Posted January 15, 2015 Gas price dropped 20 cents a gallon since yesterday here in the SoCal desert. Now at $1.99. A few more days like that and we'll be below a dollar a gallon! I never thought I'd see sub $2 gas again. The experts seem to think low prices will be around for a while.Dennis Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/50744-nature-friendly-fuel/#findComment-461911 Share on other sites
TomoHawk Posted January 16, 2015 Share #8 Posted January 16, 2015 Sorry to bust your bubble, but there is no such thing as a nature-friendly fuel. The sole purpose of the Internal combustion engine is to burn fuel in order to make an expanding gas (carbon dioxide) to push the piston(s) down. there is no way you can burn anything that doesn't result in carbon dioxide. That is only a lie told to you by gasoline manufacturers, politicians, etc. in order to make you think that you're doing the World a favor. Only a fuel cell will have nature-friendly outflow, namely water. bartsscooterservice Posted January 16, 2015 Share #9 Posted January 16, 2015 On carburetors I would use nothing else than ethanol free gasoline ( pure gasoline ), or a max of 5% ethanol.
