siteunseen Posted June 6, 2015 Share #5 Posted June 6, 2015 I got an AutoCraft like this for about $65 for outside. Universal sized so I got the large, it fits all my cars. I leave my 280 outside and it keeps it dry. EASY ON THE WALLET, for sure. gundee Posted June 6, 2015 Share #8 Posted June 6, 2015 Now all you can find is a fit all type. Pick a size. In other words, 'one size fits nothing' I like to say. 20 years ago I purchased one specifically made for a 240Z from Motorsports. Fit perfect. Some very nice covers around, but I have found none fitted for a 240Z. siteunseen Posted June 6, 2015 Share #9 Posted June 6, 2015 Thanks for above info, wonder what type of current car will be a close fit , a see a lot of water proof /multi layer covers on EBay for around 60$.I bought the one for a four door Camry, it's huge. So at least a size smaller, maybe two sizes? psdenno Posted June 6, 2015 Share #11 Posted June 6, 2015 Covercraft makes custom fit covers for just about any car, new or old, and has been around for 50 years. I used to be a dealer for them a few decades ago and sold tons of them for Studebakers and Porsches. I know that they have Z custom fit covers. If you have a car for which they don't have a custom pattern, they will create a cover from dimensions you provide. They have thousands of custom patterns. Before you go cover shopping, decide where your car will be covered - outside or in the garage. Some covers are merely dust covers while others are made of fabric that "breathes" and will let moisture escape and not not leave water stains on paint. Waterproof covers keep water out, but also trap any moisture like condensation in and cause paint damage. A good quality poly-cotton cover will work well indoors or out and last for years. You can also get a cable lock for security or windy days. http://www.covercraft.com/Dennis Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/51617-hunting-for-a-car-cover-for-early-z/#findComment-471434 Share on other sites
gundee Posted June 6, 2015 Share #12 Posted June 6, 2015 Thanks for that information. I am going to email Covercraft. Mine is in very bad shape and would like another just like it. Its grey and has 240Z printed right on the front. No tags on it as to who made it.
