grannyknot Posted June 7, 2015 Share #1 Posted June 7, 2015 I been going though the archives of this subject and for me at least it's a dizzying array options and requirements.I have a longnose R200 open diff 3.90:1 with ujoint half shafts that works perfectly but would like limited slip capabilities. Is there a clutch type or viscus type closed gear set that I can install in my existing housing? Thanks,Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/51625-limited-slip-r200/ Share on other sites

Martzedcars Posted June 15, 2015 Share #4 Posted June 15, 2015 Eh... John, On the website they say: For fairladyZ 240Z: NS081-HA (R180 type 115mm ring gear ID) I think you have worked with it? So there are more ways to come to a good limited slip diff? FWIW..Mart Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/51625-limited-slip-r200/#findComment-471981 Share on other sites
John Coffey Posted June 15, 2015 Share #5 Posted June 15, 2015 That's for the R180. The OP above asked about a unit for the R200. And yes, you can buy new from Quiaffe in the UK, an OBX from China, or find a used Nismo, Nissan Competition, or Powerbrute unit somehwere. grannyknot Posted June 16, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted June 16, 2015 John, thanks for that part #, looks like just the thing. But while were on the topic, I would be interested in your opinion on the OBX unit with the rbryant washer and bolt upgrade kit.I've read a couple of things that imply that with the better washers it is a decent unit at 1/4 the price. Thanks,Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/51625-limited-slip-r200/#findComment-472030 Share on other sites
John Coffey Posted June 16, 2015 Share #7 Posted June 16, 2015 I'm not interested in a part that I have to disassemble and fix right out of the box. I personally would not waste my time and money on one. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/51625-limited-slip-r200/#findComment-472060 Share on other sites
Jeff G 78 Posted June 16, 2015 Share #8 Posted June 16, 2015 John, does OBX build them that way (wrong) to get around a patent? It seems like a good unit once put together the right way.
