Hi all,

After much ado, I'd like to announce that we are bringing back the classifieds forum.  A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... 2007, we decided to stop classifieds in our forums.  The main reason was to allow us to develop a self-expiring ad system.  Well, since then, we have made many many changes to the site.  While we still maintain our sister site DatsunClassifieds.com, I noticed that small (and quick) personal ads were being left in the dust.  DatsunClassifieds.com is your best venue to find a serious buyer for your big projects such as completed restorations, commercial sellers, and hard to find items, we think there is still a need for the small personal ads.

The Classic Zcar Club is here to support the hobby of owning, restoring, and fixing classic Datsun's.  Let's face it, parts are hard to find, and every year I am seeing that people need a place to come to discuss this rare and valuable car.  Opening the classifieds forum gives you, as a member, a place to come and ask questions about parts, swap parts, ask for parts, give away parts, and sell parts.  This is part of operating a community and I want to make sure you guys have a place to do this.

Anyway, you'll be able to see the new forum on our main forum page or you can click here to open it now.  I also moved the Ebay/Craigslist and Garage Businesses into this forum as well.  You may also see some very old ads from early 2000 in there.  I will be cleaning these up over time.  I'm also currently working on developing a self-expiring topic for these forums which should be completed sometime in 2016.

Have a good time and enjoy the flashback to our old days.  If you need a rare part, or have one to swap, come on in and post a message.  We have over 24k members, there should be someone who will have a part for you.  :)

Mike

How hard would it be to have our SEARCH googleized?

I spit coffee on my screen the other morning when the guy from the UK said it was as "useless as a chocolate tea pot".

I know you're constantly tryng to make things better but the search function is no good. That would cut down a lot of simple questions, IMHO.

Yea, I was a bit surprised about that comment and wondered what was up with our search engine.  It "should" be working fine, but, maybe there's something I am doing wrong in the admin panel.  I'll check it out and see if there's something I need to do with it.

As far as adding a Google search bar, that can be done easily.  We had one on our old site but I abandoned it thinking this search engine was working fine.  Google has indexed our entire site, so, this might be the best option.

I'll do a bit of digging.....
