I'm not all tat interested in Fireproof garb, but something more like what Steve McQueen or James Garner wore in their classic movies.  It is, afterall, just a costume.

That tribute car has a large number of errors, like the fog lamps.  The knock-offs didn't have the yellow stuff or a cavallino, because Ferrari didn't make wheels- Boranni made them.

Fog lamps / driving lamps like these?  Or these?  Or these?

I think the 250GTO is one of the, if not THE, most beautiful automobiles to ever to grace the world.

I would give my left nut for one of those. In fact, at my age, I think I would give both nuts for one of those...

Agreed.

A beautiful road car.   From the era when designers had a free hand, and car design was not compromised by government regulations.

If you could get them both out of your shoes. LOL

That's my way of joking you know. My balls have road rash from the low drupe I'm cursed with. Tea bags are more like well buckets for me.

Site, The roadrash is probably from hanging off the side of the cycle in those high speed turns in your youth. Glad you don't do that anymore!  LOL

Remind me the next time we get together to tell you about my experiences with my drupes while on the track at speed on two wheels.

What a great looking car!  #22 belongs to Nick Mason I believe.

Nick Mason as in Pink Floyd? I knew he's a car guy, but didn't know he had one of those. Good for him!

He bought it (used, of course)  in 1978 (a very good year for GT cars!) for $18,000 from his share of the profits from the Dark Side of the Moon album, which was the first Pink Floyd album to make a profit. The car has two engines;  the original for shows, and a newer race engine, and he DOES race it-  annually, at Goodwood.

$18,000 1978 dollars is about 70,000 today. It's slightly more than a Corvette and a bit less than a Ford GT.

As someone from the era pointed out, they were just used-up, well-past-their-prime race cars at the time.  He even used it in the winter to take his kids to school!  If you want a really good read about Mason's car addiction, find his comments in "Into The Red" (a wonderful purchase, if you can find a copy) about owning one of the even-fewer-built early-50's BRM V-16 grand prix cars.  In the way that only a well-to-do Brit can manage, he estimated that it cost him as much per yard to drive that car, "... as laying the finest Wilton carpet".
