Arm rest spring

The center console storage door/arm rest cover on my 280Z does not spring open when I release the latch. I can't seem to remember how the spring rod inside that arm rest door goes together and there's nothing in this forum about this topic.

Does anyone have a picture of the inside of this door/arm rest, please?
