I understand this site has to evolve and change with the times and appreciate all the hard work that goes in to keeping it up and running.  However, the new site format has taken away some features I found very valuable or they have moved and I do not know where they are.  I usually type up my longer posts in Word so I can stop and come back as I need to.  In addition I upload all my pictures to Photobucket and use links to point to them.  When I am drafting my post in Word I can place the links in my document where the pictures need to be.  Now with the new format I have to upload my pictures to the site and then indicate where they should be in the post.  I also cannot find the Preview button that used to exist.  Has it moved?  Is there any way I can still utilize creating my posts the way I used to or is the "new way" the "only way" now?

I too miss the preview page.  Although I've found that the "Insert other media" feature will do things in a preview mode and place the picture in a place in the text.  But "choose files" just shows the files that will be attached, at the end.  So you're right, it's a bit clunky.

Are you aware that the "Insert other media" drop-down menu will show any old media that you've used?  Like this -Coffee.PNGNot sure where Photobucket fits in.

Only saying this because you brought it up but as a viewer I find Photobucket a little bit annoying.  It takes you to another page and you have to wait for images to load.  You might be talking about a different Photobucket feature though.  There are also many threads out there with broken image links because somebody used an image hosting site, instead of loading to the forum's servers.  One of the benefits of the forum upload is the thread lives longer.

p.s. I see that the dating sites have broken through the software blocks again.  Oh boy...

Lets see if you can move a picture around after inserting.  That would be nice.

Test, picture here Images.PNGchoosing, etc.  That works too.  You can grab the picture and move it where ever you want.  Woo hoo!  and apparently you can change its size by double-clicking.

Last experiment.  Insert other media, then I'll move it to a new spot.

Test spot here _____ 1977 tach.PNG   _____  going to Insert box now.  Works.  Also used the double click to make it smaller.  Wonder how big it will be when I click on it.  Edit - it shows up full size.  Nice.  Lots of hidden potential here.  Maybe there's an option for "hover over" instructions in the forum software?  Otherwise, how do we know this stuff?

Hi guys, it looks like you're working through this.  Great!  As far as the preview, the idea behind the new design is the editor is the preview.  This means you are seeing what will be posted.  If you upload an attachment, as @siteunseen said, you can insert the image directly to your post where the cursor is located.  You can also drag-n-drop the image once it's inserted.  Photobucket and other image sharing sites are certainly supported as long as you can link to the image with a URL as @Zed Head mentioned.
