arm rest colors

I have an early 260z and I bought it with worn out black arm rests, so I assumed that they were original. The interior color is white. I just bought some oem black arm rests and I was just wondering since my car's interior is white, should it have white arm rests?

I believe so, but I don't know for a fact.

However, you can get SEM paint and paint it to match the door panels. It's excellent at coverage and also for long wear.

I must agree with EScanlon, I have a 6/73 HS30 factory 110 red with off white (beige) interior and black armrests. I to cannot confirm if colour matched armrests are original.

I think they only had black armrests' . I got my car from original owner, white interior, black armrests'

As far as i know, the early Z cars all had black armrests and dash, regardless of interior color. Of course, my Z's came black inside, so what do i know? But i am pretty sure the 240/60 and maybe 280 were only black.

I would think that the SEM vinyl dye would work great if you wanted to color match though.

my 78 280Z had a brown interior totally except the dash. when i restored her, i had to die everything black...

How difficult is it to change a brown interior to black? Is it a spray or rub on application? Is it the same product for plastic and vinyl/leather?Do you have to remove all the plastic panels?I was looking at a 78 with brown interior with brown armrests.

I recently (last weekend) came across a Z that had white armrests in it. they appear to me to have been made (as opposed to being dyed) that way.

if you're still interested, I can see about picking them up for you.

btw, these are in a 77/78. don't know if they'll match up on a 260.
