I don't know if it's a coincidence or if it has something to do with the "cookie disclaimer" but ever since that popped up I'm lucky to get the site to work.  When I reply and hit "SUBMIT REPLY" it locks up on "SAVE".  @Mike can you do what I have to do to my Mom's computer about every other day and RESET TO AN EARLIER DATE? ROFL

I'm just spinning out, not going anywhere. :bunny:

Maybe it's the OS and/or browser.  I'm using Windows 7 with Chrome on a desktop.  Not clicking the Got it!, it just sits there, adding color.  Saves pretty quickly and no double posts.

The site is taking a long time to load up the first page though.  A bunch of pictures show up then it rearranges them, scrolling them ll to the top, then it sits for a while (probably trying to load cookies), then it finally settles down and is usable.

There's a new type of autoplay video ad that shows up in the middle of text on some sites.  With sound if you accidentally drag your cursor over it.  Anybody know how to stop those?  Autoplay with sound is the worst of the worst.

I've noticed all the double/triple post too but it hasn't done that on mine.  I'm using the same as Zed Head, Windows 7, browsing through Chrome.  I clicked that "Got It" one time and it hasn't shown up since.

I keep mine muted unless I want to hear something. :)  I hate that autoplay!

lol, the problem is more on the Tapatalk app than the iMac... but I used to own a Macintosh Retail store in the 90's.... a remnant of my former life in the Digital Prepress industry

Hi guys, is there anything you would like me to try from my side?  I can disable the cookie notification if you want to see if that helps.

By the way, if you are blocking cookies then you'll see the notification every time you visit the site.  You can allow cookies specifically from our site by choosing to put us on your white list (or trusted sites list).  When you click "got it" from the cookie notification, this will store a value in your local cookie that tells the system that you've already accepted.  If you don't allow cookies, then we cannot update this value.

The site will not behave well if you do not accept cookies or allow cache'd content.  If you operate in this mode, every single image, font, metadata, and piece of the web page will need to reload every time you click on a new page.  if you put the site into your trusted sites list, the system can cache the content eliminating the need to reload from our server all the time.

We should not have autoplay videos appearing on this site.  Please let me know if you see one.  I opted out of this for the same reason.

Mike

Curious, but I thought the site got paid via click-through purchases.  Are there other ways to generate revenue?  Is the tracking data worth something too?

Over the last couple of months I've been receiving SPAM daily from strange email addresses.  Somehow my email address got loose (not saying it's this forum, I've had my address for many years so it's probably on database lists from 1995) and people with names like jiminycricket@yahoo.com are sending me emails with links to generally well-known companies' web links, for a whole range of products.  They must be flooding the web in the hope that a small percentage of the multitude will click the link.  It's not clear how they make their money.  I spend a few minutes every day blocking email addresses.  They're just made-up names from Google and Yahoo and other email hosting sites.  Very strange.

Anyway, I don't think the problem described here is from the cookie blocking.  My page works fine, it just takes a while for the initial load.  Some people are getting double posts, from one click I assume, and others are seeing the "Saving" page for an extended time.  I posted on the Saving problem a while back.  It's a page refresh issue, the post is actually saved but the page doesn't refresh.
