ZwolleY Posted April 16, 2003 Author Share #37 Posted April 16, 2003 Shame on you moderators of this site for allowing such foul language. Lib**al bashing is alive and well I see. The problem with we Lib**als is that our attention wanders too freely from the environmnet, social justice, hunger, peace, feeding the hungry, educating the underpriviledged, a woman"s right to choose and, well the list goes on and on. Con*****tives, on the other hand seem to be focused on - and I become a target of flame here- if you cannot hate it enough, kill it.I reallize that I am sterotyping here. I do not mean to paint all Lib**als and Con*****tives with the same brush. I agree with all of you, Clinton was a bum. Many people were killed and much harm was done as a result of his foreign policy. There was only one "good" President in the past 40 years and he was a failure as a President - Carter. Maybe being a failure as a President made him into the compassionate person he is today. Maybe being a failure as a President made him into the compassionate person he is today. I hope you are not calling slick willy the only good President (or even A good one at that. With the Military blunders and failures he was responsible for set aside, he was not a good President for one thing: He taught our Children that sex isn't always sex. I think he honestly believes whatever happend between him and women other than his wife was not sex........ he touted it, went on TV, in Newspapers, and Magazines saying that what he did was not sex. On top of that he taught that it is ok to lie about things. And for that he should be deemed the worst President in history. We don't even have to wait for the books to be written to know that kids have taken his philosophy that sex isn't sex if you don't do certain things.I appreciate that he MAY have done some good. The bad that he did IN MY OPINION far outweighs anything "good" that he may have done. With that said, Flame me at will. I tried like hell to stay away from this thread, but like a bad car wreck, I couldn't take my eyes off it and now I'm caught in the middle.Yes I am a right wing, gun carrying, probably naming my first son Walker after the President conservative citizen of the United States of America. Oh and yes I was named after Eisenhower :classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/5581-thank-you-president-clinton/?page=4#findComment-34200 Share on other sites
TKR514 Posted April 16, 2003 Share #39 Posted April 16, 2003 Well, if BambiKiller has a problem with what's going on in Iraq, GO TO IRAQ and help out and set these guys straight. Go and stop the violence, go and stop the looting. I guess you can sit on the sidelines and complain(i.e the French position) but that hardly gets anything done. Do something or quit making angry noise would help support you ideological position. The Thread was started on how Clinton is responsible for the brilliant military victory in Iraq. That's a stretch, I'll only give him credit that he did not screw it up too badly for the next president to make limited use of it to enforce the 1991 Gulf War cease-fire agreement between the U.N. and Iraq.As far a Clinton the man, he's brilliant but not smart. A nice guy but an adulterer and lier. An elected leader but impeached. Charismatic but empty. I think he's the best PURE politician in modern times. ZwolleY Posted April 16, 2003 Author Share #40 Posted April 16, 2003 Sorry. I should have identified the "good" President as Carter. I edited my original post. Enough politics for me. I will not even respond to flame. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/5581-thank-you-president-clinton/?page=4#findComment-34203 Share on other sites
TKR514 Posted April 16, 2003 Share #41 Posted April 16, 2003 "if you cannot hate it enough, kill it."That's funny, I need to remember that one!I'm working on a book on Prejudice. One chapter is on "Politics is Prejudice". Can I use your entire previous post? It matches perfectly with the chapter. One side is loving, the other is hateful. One side is reasonable, the other side is compassionate. etc.My theory is that the same mechanism for prejudice is the same mental wiring that legitimizes group hatred in politics. The "other" side is wrong irregardless of what they do. Same as racism. Thanks! From the sound of your statements concerning military matters, I doubt it.I vote my conscience in every election, after much research of the issues and people involved. Do you? Or do you blindly believe what the Washington Post and the Austin American-Statesman tell you to believe.People and organizations are right OR wrong BECAUSE of what they do, or don't do, and how they do, or don't do it.PS Clinton was not formally Impeached. He should have been, but was not. I will agree with the rest of your asessment of him. TKR514 Posted April 16, 2003 Share #43 Posted April 16, 2003 Clinton WAS formally impeaced by the U.S. Senate on Friday , February 12, 1999, and recieved a majority of guilty votes on perjury but did not recieve the required 67 Guilty votes (a 2/3 majority) that would have been required to remove the President from office.Denial that the 42'nd president was impeached seems a bit silly...As far as Iraq, no, I do not have experience in Foreign affairs or direct military service. I assume that there is a reason for what is happening and that many will use the events there for political their own political gain over humaitarian gains. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss..... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/5581-thank-you-president-clinton/?page=4#findComment-34210 Share on other sites

Denial that the 42'nd president was impeached seems a bit silly.... I stand corrected. My statement was meant to convey that he was not successfully removed from office in the impeachment process. I know the "trial" occurred, but it was not successful in removing him, which I believe should have been done. I mis-spoke and apologize Originally posted by TKR514 As far as Iraq, no, I do not have experience in Foreign affairs or direct military service. Neither does Dubya, and it shows......badly! (I'm not saying I could do better, but then again; I didn't apply for the job.) Originally posted by TKR514 I assume that there is a reason for what is happening and that many will use the events there for political their own political gain over humaitarian gains. As an educated individual I am sure that you know what happens when someone ASSUMES. Enough said there. But, really; weren't we told that we were going to Iraq on humanitarian grounds, and to make the US safer? I don't feel safer, and I doubt that many Iraqi citizens do (so far) either. Originally posted by TKR514 Meet the new boss, same as the old boss..... Agreed, but I don't consider this as an acceptable situation. Something is wrong here, we're finding common ground on another aspect of this discussion.
