EhlersRS Posted February 18, 2017 Share #61 Posted February 18, 2017 I bought this used splash pan a few weeks ago. It obviously needs to be cleaned up and painted. It would take some work to fabricate a pan with similar dimensions, but no one is making new pans that I'm aware of. heyitsrama Posted February 18, 2017 Share #63 Posted February 18, 2017 That would be a hot sellerYeah I've been looking for one. Don't really like the idea of roadkill getting blood on my oil pan. wheee! Posted February 18, 2017 Share #64 Posted February 18, 2017 I would love a modern version punched out of stainless... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/55999-replacement-inner-rocker-panels/?page=6#findComment-513220 Share on other sites
wheee! Posted February 18, 2017 Share #65 Posted February 18, 2017 @disepyonBuild an undershroud that can be flat shipped, either riveted or bolted together that has a modern functional look and you will sell lots. Guys going for the OEM look will want an original piece anyways. Make it a custom unit, maybe out of stainless or powder coated and it will be a hit! EhlersRS Posted February 18, 2017 Share #66 Posted February 18, 2017 Also, keep in mind the splash pan for the '70 - '74 is different from the pan for the 74 1/2 - '78. I think you can still get the later splash pans from Nissan and the mounting holes are located slightly off from the early versions.Robert S. Patcon Posted February 18, 2017 Share #67 Posted February 18, 2017 @EhlersRS If I may, what did a used splash pan run you? For Iowa the condition isn't too bad. A little rusty on the inside near the back but no obvious really rotten areas Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/55999-replacement-inner-rocker-panels/?page=6#findComment-513272 Share on other sites

A little rusty on the inside near the back but no obvious really rotten areasHey Patcon, This pan came from a guy in NC and I think it was originally on a '73 model. I paid $100 for the pan and $30 for shipping. From what I've seen a pan in average to good condition will run around $200. After the pan arrived here, I noticed there is some pitting on the area you mentioned. I'll decide if it needs repair after blasting the rust off, otherwise I'll just repaint it.Robert S. Patcon Posted February 19, 2017 Share #69 Posted February 19, 2017 Thanks, Those numbers are similar to what I have seen too, and many of those are pretty well beat up. Yours looks pretty straight all things considered. You could also use a rust remover from Eastwood which will not remove any good metal, since the panel isn't really very thick anyway... These pans are definitely made from a thin gauge panel! Robert S. disepyon Posted February 19, 2017 Author Share #71 Posted February 19, 2017 Interesting Ideas. Will keep a list of your suggestions and hopefully to show up on my site someday soon. Keep them coming. Managed to get the seat brackets finished. However as of yet these have not been approved yet for fitment. Once approved they are ready for purchase (https://www.prospect-d.com/). Can also review the installation guide as well in the install guide section. Similar to the ones I made for my Z, already posted pictures. These appear to fit and made a lot better.
