Where do cars go when they die?  I saw this site and thought it was a joke at first.  But, if you want to get that Lambo you've been dreaming of... just a little work required. :)

Anyone have experience restoring salvage vehicles?

The Lambo's and Ferrari's are nice but I'm Jones'n on the E Type.

I have looked at buying wrecked Ferrari's in the past and repairing them. Look for used parts but make sure you have a healthy heart first. It will take your breath away. A used front hood costs more than most of us paid for our whole cars. Used head lights a couple of grand each. Get's really expensive quick...

I need to find one wrecked/flooded a little worse to get one down to my price range.  My dad bought/sold a flooded Tempest around 1966, I think a result from a hurricane.  I remember he asked me for reasons why the radio would not work.  I told him the speaker might be the culprit.

I'm surprised by the number of cars listed as damaged by "fresh water flood".  From a dealership?  Owned by someone who didn't have the sense to come in out of the rain?  If I knew the water was rising, I'd hop in my $500,000 Lambo and head for high ground.  It would be interesting to know the story behind some of the cars.

True but at this customer level. They may be at one of their other homes. Might not be local to the car at the time and if it's well insured aren't worried about. Maybe they got in the Duesenberg instead... ;)

Good point, which begs the question, "Which one of your cars would you save if you had to evacuate ahead of a flood, hurricane, forest fire, or Zombie Apocolypse?".

I could make that scenario a win-win by towing my Z with my other car though that might be bending the rules if i can only save one car.  The Lambo would be in trouble.

Well that's a problem, all the cars I'm emotionally attached to don't run. Some don't roll. My work truck get's saved because with out it I'm out of business. The suburban get's saved and stuffed with as many non replaceables as possible
