You had the best advice of all Hardway.....when you run into particular problem, or a project is going downhill, just walk away! Patience is not my long suit, but there is a right way and a wrong way.....taking it to the machine shop was definitely the right way in this case.........BTW....I ordered a 24 inch long handled adjustable wrench off of Amazon....it opens to 2 1/2 inches.....front struts "be very afraid"!

Success!!!!   All's well that ends well. I didn't put em upside down and didn't forget the bump stops. Also, I installed new inner and outer control arm bushings, new stainless brake lines and new brake hoses. Ready to go back together....every project is an exciting venture.....ain't we lucky!
