Chat window Not Working Right

The chat system seems to be functioning, but when you fill the chat window with messages, the bottom line is not visible.  I usually enter a blank message, like a dot to move the messages up one line, and then I can see the last line.

I wasn't always that way.  I think it was fine until a system update about 5 or 6 weeks ago? About the same time the secret questions were installed.   I thought it might be a Java problem, but I'm always up-to-date with the Java versions.    What kinds of stuff you need to run the chat window- probably not the flash player?...  I tried flushing the cache, saved files, etc.  Nothing is making an improvement.

I still go to the chap window on most nights, from 8-11, probably until the cruising season starts.
