wheee! Posted April 1, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2017 Not sure if I want to go this route or not, but where can we find reasonably priced rubber replacement strips for the old chrome bumpers? I may just buy the Futofabs in the end, but I have a decent set of old style bumpers already, they just need either new rubber or welding up and rechroming... GV Z Car Posted April 1, 2017 Share #3 Posted April 1, 2017 Not trying to be a smart&$# but I was able to get the horizontal rubber strips for the bumpers from Nissan a couple of years ago.Sent from my XT1585 using Classic Zcar Club mobile Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/57404-rubber-strips-on-240-bumpers-where-to-source/#findComment-516966 Share on other sites
JSM Posted April 1, 2017 Share #4 Posted April 1, 2017 (edited) This what I did and thought it looked ok. I got this from pep boys. Still have a bunch left. I think it was $22 or so back then? All black no chrome. wheee! Posted April 1, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted April 1, 2017 I will check with my dealer. But the body molding might be a good idea too. My bumpers were just drivers and I couldn't see investing in the right rubber for the cost. psdenno Posted April 2, 2017 Share #9 Posted April 2, 2017 Should have put put a strip of it in the center of the bumper......might have absorbed the impact. I sold it to a 17 year old kid in South Florida. That was 2 weeks worth of ownership for him. He bought it for 7k and insured for 10k. I tried like heck to buy it back from the insurance company. No luck. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/57404-rubber-strips-on-240-bumpers-where-to-source/#findComment-516999 Share on other sites

Some of the cash would have been better spent on a high performance driving school class. Nice car, slow reflexes, bad wreck.
