timsz Posted May 15, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 15, 2017 I can't get carbs to idle down. They either rev high or when they calm down, it stalls. Any help until I can look closer at them? Thank you. madkaw Posted May 16, 2017 Share #3 Posted May 16, 2017 Make sure linkage isn't bindingSent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/57738-quick-help-with-triple-mikunis/#findComment-521034 Share on other sites
gnosez Posted May 16, 2017 Share #4 Posted May 16, 2017 Depending on the linkage a little grease might be needed in the cups/ball connectors. Could be worse and have it stay wide open... RyanT67 Posted May 16, 2017 Share #5 Posted May 16, 2017 A video of the problem would help a lot. It's useful to see whats happening. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/57738-quick-help-with-triple-mikunis/#findComment-521070 Share on other sites
oemz Posted May 17, 2017 Share #6 Posted May 17, 2017 I would disconnect the linkage from the carbs and see how it acts.Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/57738-quick-help-with-triple-mikunis/#findComment-521194 Share on other sites
zKars Posted May 17, 2017 Share #7 Posted May 17, 2017 Absolutely begin with all three carbs independant linkage wise. Get each one flowing the same as you set the idles amoungst the three until the car idles well. Make sure the idle mix screws are all the same turns out (1, 1.5, not past three or you have other issues...) as a starting point. THEN hook up the linkage (should not cause ANY throttle change from base case) and get it idling again. 2 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/57738-quick-help-with-triple-mikunis/#findComment-521197 Share on other sites
