This car has been in the family for about 10 years now and it's been sitting in the yard since 2007. I finally got around to working on it. Pulled it into the shop a couple days ago to find that it's extremely solid. More updates to come!!!Image1497318129.975546.jpg. Welcome aboard!

Let me help you out by making your car one year newer. Poof!!  It's now a 77, not a 76.

My work here is done.  :)

An important distinction indeed.  77 is the year of change in 280Z world.

Welcome to the group!   Looks like the making of a good project.  For clarification, what do you mean when you say, "it's extremely solid"?  No rust?

It does have a little bit on the rear but nothing serious

I've got the same car, 9/'76.  But it's titled a '77. It has the sloped up rear deck and the space saver spare tire. I'll put some pictures up in the morning.

Welcome to the best helpers you'll meet, more info than you'll find anywhere.

CO noticed the bumper rubber and the hood vents, signs of 1977.  My comment was about the major changes in the body parts from 76 to 77, but confimring what CO noted.  For example, if you buy 1976 door parts for your car they probably won't fit.  Many other parts aren't' the same either.

You probably looked at the stamp on the door jamb, that had a 1976 year on it.  But that's the build date, not the model year.  Nissan, and most car makers, start building their model years ~6 months ahead of the actual model year.

Anyway, your car is probably a 1977 280Z.  What does the title show?

We're not trolling, just steering...
