How do the "likes" work? I liked some things yesterday but it won't let me like anything today. How does it count or reset? Can it reset at midnight or something. It hasn't been 24hrs yet but it is the next day...

 I'd like to know when it resets too. I believe it's limited to 5 likes in 24 hrs. I thought 5 likes would be enough but IMO, there's just too much good going on here to be limited to 5 likes. Sometimes Cliff's comments can use up several likes and at times the activity level is so high that 5 isn't enough. I have considered the possibility that I'm free and easy with my likes but I just call them as I see them.

Sometimes being easy is just the right thing to do...

I think some people have to  marinate on that for a while?

I like to hate and hate to like.  But like to marinate too.

I'd like to see a "Hate" button on the site.  Why not?  Or at least a "Disilike".  Maybe a "Not so sure this is a good thing" button?

What's incredible to me is that one guy, Mark Zuckerberg, got the whole world thinking in terms of "Likes".  Freaking weird that a single organism can have that effect on the majority of the other organisms, probably 2-3 billion computer users.  Scary.

Personally, I believe Cliff has used most of the available likes..thus the limitations.  Just look at his world record rank!    Kinda like my daughter and the data plan we share......

Hi @Patcon,  Sure, the "likes" system is just a standard name given to a concept we call 'reputation' on the club.  Regular members get 5 reputation votes in a 24-hour period and supporting members get 10.  I didn't think that was enough, so, I just doubled it to 10 and 20 votes per day.  The system will reset the counter after you give your first reputation and it doesn't accrue.  So, if you give your first reputation at 8am, it will reset at 8am the next day no matter how many points you gave.  We did try a like/dislike concept but people didn't like it.  I reverted back to the positive-only mode.

Reputation can also be used to rank member participation (or like-ability) in the club but we aren't using ranks.  You can see your ranking just below your avatar on the left of every post.
