You have the correct part number for the '70 thru '72 240Z front bumper. The picture looks like you have the rubber piece on backwards - the rounded edge needs to be on the outside end that curves around to the front edge of the fender. Try starting from the first hole on the side corner of each side of the bumper (see picture below).

 No I have it correct. The flat end is shown where the overrider goes. My original was longer. Nissans vendor screwed up I think. Poor quality control.

Ended up elongating the holes with my dremel tool to fit. Then the rears were too long. So I drilled an new hole to get those installed. 

Go figure. I have no idea whats going on but they are installed and never coming off as long as I have the car.
