why must a user submit their full address to log in?
if I can't remove my address from your database, I'll have to remove my account.

currently, it's seen as a requirement- and it's showing up on the user profile page.

(also, the swirly effect on all the images is ugly as sin).

  • well if we're going there, it's more like shrooms about 20 minutes before they reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally reel ya in. ever been camping and just stare at a large boulder for about 20 minutes right before

  • What is really needed on this web site is an OVER reacted button.

  • The swirly effect will fool some into thinking they are having a LSD flashback. Like escaping from a deep space black hole in a Z car! Swirly stuff so cool! Like far out, Mike!!!

Seems like a less than user friendly process. And what exactly does it express or measure?   "Like" I understand. Emoticons just seem goofy. Perhaps I'm getting too old to play Internet.

It does send a notification. But it says "So-n-so reacted to your post."

It doesn't say what the reaction was. Just that a reaction occurred.

Mike....I'm with Careless.....why do we constantly have to change the website? Every time I get comfortable with the site, we change it. Why? I think it was the absolute best 4 changes ago........

I just want to clarify: I don't mind the UI change or the look of the website as a whole. I have a degree in Graphic Design and developed numerous large websites and user interfaces for over a decade- and this is one of the better/cleaner forums I frequent given the limitations imposed by the forum platforms available today and how much "hacking" has to be implemented to get some themes to work as expected. It's not always easy- and I can appreciate the cleanliness of this site. The changes are more like updates than overhauls. I like the direction it's headed in, so we actually disagree there, @Diseazd. And for what it's worth- good job on the improvements, @Mike

My only recommendation aside from the swirly photo filter being tacky (which is just my opinion and a suggestion- not a requirement for me staying as a member) is to make every alternating comment a lighter shade of gray. I've found that alternating rows between #000000 and #111111 hex colour format from comment to comment is enough to distinguish between individual posts and makes reading threads a heck of a lot easier.

I was just concerned about my address info being shown on my user page- which it was for some time until I discovered the box that displayed it. Otherwise almost everything else is pleasing to me.

@Mike

I've tried since returning from ZCON17 in July to update my profile, but it will not complete and save.

I have filled out all of the information and it looks correct, but when I try to save it nothing is updated. I get the "your profile is 50% complete" and my signature looks just like it did for the last 2 years.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks for this site and your hard work making it happen Mike!

Hi @Zup, yeah I noticed that too.  Try entering a null or n/a for some of the social media entries.  You may also need to fill in something in the "About Me" area...

Thanks for the clarification, @Careless.  This is great, and constructive, feedback.  I'll work on the images as I have time.  Right now it looks like a majority of the kinks are worked out, with exception of the "About Me" page.  Don't worry about the address, it's completely hidden.  The only public location is the Member Map Location, which can be set to a generic level such as your State.  I also like the alternating greyscale idea for the replies.  I'll look into that too.

I just updated the website today and didn't know this was a new requirement.  Can you send me a screenshot of what you don't like?

Also, there's nothing that says you can't make up an address in your city.  123 4th Street for instance...    At least give the state you live in so our member map updates.

Mike can you post my car I am new to zcar here is my 1980zx its clean and by the way I am looking for a set of 14inch rims Thanks Mike,Oh by the way sweetbetty has a set but dont know how to contact her
