I get email messages with site content and can't turn it offf...grrrrrr

 

I got my settings workng right.  Only emails if somebody mentions me (the @) or quotes me.  Seems to work, although the site is so slow today it's unusable.
Hybridz converted to the same software a few days ago and their site won't even load.

Wrote this on Notepad while I'm waiting for the reply box to work.  I get the swirly circle for minutes.  Still swirling...
Hurry up and post before it locks up again...It worked!

Alright, it seems back to normal speed.  The initial load took forever.  Background stuff??  Who knows.

I don't think this is the same thing. It's a feature of the Bulletin board. 

Thanks for posting. I changed the button at the Bottom of the Reply Box to " Off " and it seemed to do the Trick . Since I was only getting E-Mail notifications about this Topic, I think that was the main culprit.

However, I did make some changes to Thread following. Here is a screenshot of what I have selected now:

The real question is - what changed to start this "spamming".  Everything has been fine.  Gave you a quote and an @ to see if they work.

It could be when I prompted Mike about the @ system not working that he tweaked something behind the scenes that did this

instantly regretted it.

I went to account settings under my username in the top right corner. Unchecked most everything and it's worked for me.

Hey guys. I'm out with the family on a last getaway before school starts. No computer so I can't look at this until tomorrow night, sorry. This likely happened when you asked me to turn on the notifications for @ mentions. If I remember correctly, you also have an option to send one notice per day somewhere in the settings under your name. This is what I have turned on and it's a lot less email.

I have to walk that comment back. The chaos in my life happens every six weeks when we run out of dog food.
