H. Roeckelein Posted February 3, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 3, 2018 (edited) Thought I had squeak in my Cassette player in my 1980 10th Anniversary 280zx after taking the cassette player out I noticed that the squeak was coming from a small fan located under the dash in between the cassette deck and the glove compartment - Applied some WD40 and the squeak stopped(for Now)- My question is what is this fan for, is it to cool the inside of the dash??? Thanks in advance Edited February 3, 2018 by H. Roeckelein Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/59479-dash-fan/ Share on other sites

S30Driver Posted February 4, 2018 Share #3 Posted February 4, 2018 BGM is correct, it is the aspirator fan for the automatic climate control system. A common failure. I think there is a little grill between the defroster vents for it to draw in the cabin air sample.
