About a year ago I installed new KYB struts and Vogtland lowering springs.  The end result was the ride height I wanted but the the ride was harsh and I had a noise in the rear that I couldn't seem to determine the source.  I did this work along with replacing all the bushings in the car and so I wasn't sure really what where the noise originated.  I tried virtually everything to track down the cliunk that would occur during short sharp bumps.

Today I installed a new set of Tokico struts and lowering springs, I got a great deal on the whole set-up so I thought what the heck, will give it a rip.  Wow!  What a difference!  The ride quality is so much better and that noise is long gone.  I'm still not totally sure what the issue was but glad it's gone.  My guess is that it originated from the strut cap that came with the KYB's??

The gland nut (strut cap?) is supposed to clamp the shock body tightly in to the strut tube. So it's not so much the nut itself but whether it was working properly.

Can't see any of your .HEIC files, whatever they are.

Where'd you get the Tokicos?  Craigslist, eBay?

I got the springs and struts on EBay, it was a kit that was purchased some time ago and never used. Not sure whats going on with my pics, I have posted pics without issue many times. I'd love to buy these but they no longer exist either. :(
