I am recently having problems with the google ads in the threads. They are now covering sections of text.

This is happening on my tablet using the normal desktop website. Its just started doing this in the last week or so. Turning off the VPN doesn't help it either.

Anyone else having this problem?

 Here is how i see it...  @Mike   adverts all over the text..   And Yeah i'm looking for a new amplifier.. Hench the hifi corner hahaha... but no.. not funny...

 

Looking into this, it must be a setting on my Google Adsense account somewhere and I cannot seem to find it.

I do notice it will repair itself when you refresh the page.

I just tried that and a new ad just showed up on top of another post.

Seems like the ads just aren't recognizing the text as text.  Those type of ads usually reformat the text to create a space for their obnoxiousness.  Kind of like sitting on somebody instead of shoving them out of a seat.

Nah, it's just some kind of incompatibility with our site.  It's got to be a setting somewhere, I just need to find the time to find it.

@Mike have you had any progress on finding the cause of this. It's starting to be a pita.

Im a supporting member and still getting them, which is one of the selling points of being a supporting member.

 

@Mike any update on this problem. If I want to read the text, I need ti click on the ad, then it goes away when I come back.

Ugh, this isn't supposed to happen for supporting members.  I thought I had told Google to turn off 'auto ad placement' but apparently I missed something.  Sorry man, I'll have to dig a little deeper this week.  Can't do it today because I'm working on my house remodel.  But, I'll start on it Monday.

Mike, no problem. I have kinda gotten use to it.

Ok, I made a change on the Google Adsense website to totally remove what they call "auto ads"..  Let me know if you see any difference.  Thanks.
