Anybody else getting a full 1/2 page autoplay ad now?  It's a new thing.  1/2 page that I have to scroll down from is one thing but a little autoplay video...almost unbearable.  Autoplay sucks no matter where it's found.

I guess it is 1/2page on an iPad! I must be immune I just scroll right past it.

Thanks.  Just trying to figure out why.  I don't have an ad blocker but there is an ad block option in my browser.

Based on what I browse there's no reason for this kind of Netflix ad.  Honest.  If it doesn't stop I'll have to get an ad-block add-on. 

This one is reasonable.  But it's still animated.  Not reducing my stress...

Much better.  Even shows a portable toilet and holding tank for the back of a pickup truck.  A bowl with a view.  The vent stack could be higher though, it's about nose level.  Maybe it's actually a spittoon.

I would highly, highly high suggest using that ad blocker.

You don't like ads, it blocks them. Are you waiting on captain obvious to say "it's my job"?

I've wondered before if the ads we see aren't really based on Mike's browsing history.  No offense Mike.  Why would AdSense think I'm a Netflix candidate?

I hate anything autoplay!  All the sites I read are about 75% video now and I don't like that.  I have a television. 

Hi guys, contributing members should not see these ads.  Please let me know if this is happening. 

As far as the ad unit, this is an experiment I am running to see if we can boost our adsense income to continue paying for the site.  The ad unit shouldn't be taking 1/2 the page, more like 1/4 to 1/3 depending on your resolution. 

Why are we trying this?  I've seen an annual drop in advertising revenue of 10% or more and we are simply making adjustments to attract business.  The ad types are all controlled by Google and they have a pretty sophisticated algorithm to show you that ad.  No, it's not based on my browsing history.

If you do not like the ad, my recommendation is to help us out with a small subscription fee which I've lowered.  If you don't want to do either, my recommendation is to simply put up with the ad.  I see them when I browse the site, and they have been fine.  No more dating sites or russian bride-type ads anymore (which is good!).

Lastly, we need this ad revenue to pay our bills.  We would not be able to survive without this service.  So, please put up with them or click on the ads if you are interested.  We can use the help.

I have no issue with these ads. If they help keep this forum around I can spend a few extra seconds scrolling. Who knows maybe I might even see something I need. 

My point was actually about the content.  I am definitely not a customer for Netflix Disney moves.  The ads are wasted on me.
