Anybody else getting a full 1/2 page autoplay ad now?  It's a new thing.  1/2 page that I have to scroll down from is one thing but a little autoplay video...almost unbearable.  Autoplay sucks no matter where it's found.

I understand your point, and I don't like all of the content either. I just wanted to make the point that ads are a necessary evil. My motto is don't sweat the small stuff you can't control.

I'm not positive but as a supporting member I don't see ANY ads on this site.

Thanks guys.  I appreciate you putting up with the ad.  Good news is the experiment is working because we are up 25% in the last week.  This will certainly help us remain in the black.  We are still -10% from the same period last year but I have a feeling this will improve.

As a reference, our hard costs are $350-$450/mo so you can see how tight things are every month (we only made $314 in Adsense revenue last month (see below) and the previous month was only $276).  So, you can see that supporting members and direct ads are important to keep us going.  The reason for the variation is due to factors like extra network traffic, licensed feature renewals, domain registration, and backup expenses.  Costs are controlled because we own the server and pay a facility to host it for us.  If we moved the server to the cloud, our expenses would increase by $200-$300 a month, so I really don't want to go there now.

My ideal number is $500/mo or $6k annual income.  If we get back up to this level, I can start looking into other projects such as club shirts and fun products!
