HallanshakerBlatherskyte Posted December 6, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 6, 2018 I have a complete disassembled LD28 that ran great when I took it apart 10 years ago. I assume people only care about the crankshaft but I'm not sure what the interest is these days. Anyone looking? zeeboost Posted December 6, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 6, 2018 (edited) I wouldn’t mind a cylinder head and intake thrown in with it, but generally yes just the crankshaft is what everyone goes for. How much were you asking for it? Dave WM Posted December 6, 2018 Share #3 Posted December 6, 2018 I think a LD28 equipped Z would be fun. Seen a few on youtube. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/61206-ld28-complete-disassembled/#findComment-563163 Share on other sites
HallanshakerBlatherskyte Posted December 6, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted December 6, 2018 My plan was a holset and a 5.9 Cummins pump. I would take $2k for the complete engine. Asking $1200 for the crankshaft. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/61206-ld28-complete-disassembled/#findComment-563171 Share on other sites
duffymahoney Posted December 6, 2018 Share #5 Posted December 6, 2018 The block is not what is getting used for the 3.5L builds that Rebello is doing. It's worth some money. How is he building a 3.5 engine? What are the components? Bore and stroke? There are several better places to have such a conversation were it necessary, but the info is easily searchable on this forum or others. I posted this to gauge interest and get pricing feedback and would greatly appreciate any reply along those lines. Thank you! If the previous poster is correct that the LD block is the basis of a 3.5L motor, than your parts are worth more than simply using the taller block. Rod ratio doesn't effect displacement, which was my line of question. I am also pretty familiar with the forum and what info has been posted here and the ability to find that information or not. Just trying to help you determine the value of your parts, as I own 2 of these engines already. So I have a vested interest in helping you get the best price. HallanshakerBlatherskyte Posted December 7, 2018 Author Share #12 Posted December 7, 2018 I never said rod ratio effected displacement. Just that a taller block allows a better rod ratio with a given stroke. This is what I was trying to avoid. Just looking to gauge interest in selling an engine.
