christ0ph Posted May 17, 2003 Share #13 Posted May 17, 2003 It seems from the list in your signature, that you're going around and collecting some of the best Japanese cars ever made. You dirty bastard, I'm quite envious. Have fun with all of your cars now. Sorry I know this is a z site, (but I thought more than a few of you guys would appreciate the GTR as well) Awesome, I'd love to see the picts. About the Z content... no big deal because Skyline's and Z's seem to go together for some reason. Cuong Nguyen Posted May 20, 2003 Author Share #15 Posted May 20, 2003 Hi All,just uploaded some pics of my R32 GTR. It is all that I thought it would be and more! Now that my long time dream car is in my driveway, it is hard to think of something that I would want to buy (within reach) Maybe a R34 GTR would be nice... Rob Posted May 21, 2003 Share #17 Posted May 21, 2003 Cuong, That is a beautiful GTR. The R32 GTR is my all time favorite car (even above the Z). I've wanted one ever since they came out, preferably in silver. Good to hear you're keeping it original. I'm not that much of a purist but it seems a shame that most of the ones you see around are hacked about with on one way or another. "Spartan air", huh? does that mean you shouldn't pump the tyres up too much? Congratulations. I was speaking to a friend of mine about your car and he tells me that the exact figures for the 32 were;200 brought in120 sold80 shipped backThese figures put Nissan Australia off at the time thus we were never to see the Skyline in a showroom floor again. Cuong Nguyen Posted May 21, 2003 Author Share #19 Posted May 21, 2003 Hi George, that is very interesting, because it is well known that Nissan only needed to sell 100 to make the car legal to race. At the end of 1992 the sales tally was 67 and they had difficulty finding homes for the remainder.Maybe check your friend's sources???Cuong Nguyen Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/6188-i-bought-one/?page=2#findComment-38254 Share on other sites
That Ozzy Guy Posted May 21, 2003 Share #20 Posted May 21, 2003 He used to work for Nissan and now works for BMW. He's been around the car scene and in particular Skylines for a while now. Owns a 33T atm but this doesn't mean he's right. He just sounded so sure of himself too. zorro Posted May 21, 2003 Share #21 Posted May 21, 2003 Well done Cyuong........... I assume it is the model that only made it 6 hours into its first attempt at Bathurst but by that time had lapped every single competitor several times on a 2min plus a lap. The R32 is like owning the 240 of Zeds cooooool. So which will go faster and which will u want to drive? Good on ya mate cya! Alfadog Posted May 21, 2003 Share #22 Posted May 21, 2003 Cuong, in regards to the "how many were sold" thing, if you really want to check it out maybe send a letter to Nissan Australia, or Nissan Japan?Usually they are very helpful (they were with my past owner of the Z, they photocopied OODLES of stuff for him).
