Hello Mike.  Sorry to keep picking on you about this but it's a real bummer.  And I just found a new change, that maybe you can do something about.

I used to be able to search my own content, then choose Topics on the sidebar, and I would see a list of Topics that I had posted in.  Now when I click Topics what i get is a list of Topics that I started.  Not the same thing.  The reason I would click Topics is the same reason that I would like to see older Topics on one page.  So that a person doesn't have to look through all of the posts on a popular topic.

Have you tried the activity feed tab on the top menu?  Select "Content I Started" and you'll see a list of topics that you started.  You can also tweak the stream to only include the items you want by editing the values at the top of the stream.  Once you tweak it to your liking, you can save it as a new custom stream.  It will then be available anytime you log in.

I think that there is confusion about why I created this Topic.  I'm trying to make the site better for everyone, including me.  Post numbers and a longer list of Topics (not the ones I started) will make the site better for everyone.  Not looking for more ways to use another new "app".  Don't stay logged in all the time.  View the site from different devices.  Kind of tired of programming electronics, it gets old.

If it's good enough for you then leave it.  Just let new Topics die after 24 hours, as they seem to do.  If a person posts a Topic and doesn't get a reply in 24 hours, the Topic is essentially dead to people who use the Activity functions while not logged in, or is logged in but hasn't "tweaked" the settings.  Actually any Topic that doesn't have activity in 24 hours is likely to die.  Many people view the site without being logged in.  Hard to comprehend, people not "logged in", but it's true.

Good luck.  Glad the forum is here, just see flaws that probably affect site traffic..

Post Numbers:

I understand that you want to make this place better for everyone, which is great.  However, I've found that trying to please everyone is a slippery slope.  What works great for some people doesn't always work for others.  That said, I am still looking for an option to get the post numbers back, it's a feature that most of our members like/want.  It's just going to take some time to sit down and do some programming.  I can't find anyone that has done it already, so I'll have to write my own code.

Last 24 Hours:

As far as the last-24 topics, this seems to only be a problem for people who are not logged in.  I think it's a good idea to help make the site easier to use, but truthfully the best experience will always work better if you are logged in.  Most of our most useful content requires an account (which is free).

Content Participation:

I may have also misunderstood your question about participation, sorry.  I thought you wanted to see the content where you started.  But, it looks like you want to see a list of topics where you participated.  Every time you reply to a topic, the system will automatically toggle the "Follow This" option.  So, you can simply click on the stream "content I follow" and you'll see the list there.  You can also click on the stream "content I posted in" and you should get a similar list.

Thanks again for the ideas, no offense taken.  I will keep you updated on the post numbers as soon as I have something that works.

Hey Zed, have you tried the "See my activity" button in your profile. You can do this on or off line, if off line it is "See their activity". This gives you a complete list of all of your posts, not just content you started. If you are on a mobile device all you will see in your profile is the tiny icon below your handle but it still works.

I appreciate the help.  People are having trouble understanding what I'm saying.

My point is just to make it easier to use the site.   I'm not asking how to jump through more hoops.  I just want to get on to the site, from anywhere, not logged-in, click on a button and see Topics for the last 24 Days.  Not 24 Hours.  Who made 24 Hours the expiration limit?  It looks like an artificial construct to get people coming back every day.  So they don't miss something.,

Anyway, thanks for the mental exercise.

Well of course we want people to come back every day!  ?

But, I do like your idea and just wasn't following you.  I added new options to the activity stream for both members and guests.  Enjoy!

Mike

Thanks Mike.  I don't see the new options though.  Signed in or signed out.
