Zed Head Posted April 24, 2021 Author Share #1597 Posted April 24, 2021 The overall state of things. The future feels better but the present is still pretty bad. Zed Head Posted April 24, 2021 Author Share #1598 Posted April 24, 2021 I have one of those horizontal spinner machines and find that I can just throw about 20 masks in and wash on gentle cycle. The spin gets them pretty dry, then hang them up. Got some hypoallergenic non-scented detergent. 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/63698-covid-19/?page=134#findComment-620335 Share on other sites
Zed Head Posted April 24, 2021 Author Share #1599 Posted April 24, 2021 Canada is having problems. It's weird how the US media just ignores what's happening up there. I only became aware because I came across a Canadian radio station while driving. Racer X Posted April 24, 2021 Share #1600 Posted April 24, 2021 32 minutes ago, Zed Head said: It felt crowded and everybody takes their mask off as soon as they sit down. I felt dumb as soon as I walked in. We drove the grandson's car to North Carolina and flew back recently. All the way down every place we went in to eat it was like that. Of course we only dined in at two places, breakfast at Big Springs, Nebraska, Saturday morning, and dinner at Fawcett, Missouri. It felt dumb. At Fayetteville we ate out 3 times, once at a Sushi place, then lunch and dinner at a Caribbean place next to the hotel. All 3 times the places weren't very busy, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The owner of the Caribbean place talked our ear off both times, none of us wearing masks. Again, a dumb feeling. On the flights back everyone has to have masks, or face federal penalties, so everyone was masked up all the time. When we changed planes at Dallas/Fort Worth, had time to eat and it was lunchtime. We had a burger and a beer at TGI Fridays. As soon as people sat down most immediately unmasked. This place was packed. None of that pesky 50% stuff, and no threat of time at Leavenworth if you didn't have it on. That felt even more dumb. Mike Posted April 25, 2021 Share #1602 Posted April 25, 2021 Well it looks like the UK has had it with the restrictions. Over 10k people coming out to protest and stand against government control and this idea of a vaccination passport. Popular Post siteunseen Posted April 25, 2021 Popular Post Share #1603 Posted April 25, 2021 I've been on the wrong side of the law since I was 14. Now I'm trying to be respectful but have never felt so alone and worried about day to day in my life. I know it's up to me and my decisions going foward. Hopefully things will get back to normal as fast as possible. I'm tired of watching television. I can honestly say classiczcars.com has been my lifeline during all this. I don't consider what we say and share as social media, it's not. I really feel like family here and I appreciate that. This is helping me through these weird times by trying to help others with a car problem that I can actually help. So get out there and tear up these Zs! Y'all are keeping me sane. (well mostly). Stick together and help others when you can. Open a door for someone, help somebody fix a door. It feels the same. 5 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/63698-covid-19/?page=134#findComment-620493 Share on other sites

Talladega. 200+ miles an hour. 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/63698-covid-19/?page=134#findComment-620495 Share on other sites
Zed Head Posted April 25, 2021 Author Share #1605 Posted April 25, 2021 Earlier I mentioned the goal of the news programs as being to get people amped up so they'd buy more stuff. Saw something along those lines this morning. 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/63698-covid-19/?page=134#findComment-620501 Share on other sites
siteunseen Posted April 26, 2021 Share #1606 Posted April 26, 2021 There's more commercials on the news channels now than ever. I'm switching from cable to streaming when I have time to spend and figure it out. Xfinity is flogging me with $^!# emails after I complained a week ago. They use the confusion manipulation tactic so it takes some time. Sounds like you recognize the need for changes, so do that and be reassured that life will be less stressful when you succeed. Open a door for someone, help somebody fix a door. It feels the same. Yeah, definitely strange times. I remember watching movies about pandemics and wondered if it could ever happen. At least this one we aren't all turning into zombies. I feel ya about the club being a lifeline. I have been focusing on the back end development for quite some time. Moving to a new domain host, organizing a server replacement, programming some online stuff (hopefully microfiche online soon), and just general club activity. I wish I could say I was working on my Z or at least driving it. Need to get out and kick the tires again now that spring is here. And yes I really despise TV these days. I cut the cable a few years ago but we still get over the air broadcasts. Every time I watch for 10-15 minutes and just shut it off. 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/63698-covid-19/?page=134#findComment-620516 Share on other sites
