cmillermorris Posted September 19, 2020 Share #1 Posted September 19, 2020 I just added this 73 to my collection. Can anyone provide any insight on the interior? My thoughts are to take the interior back to something period correct. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/64473-interior-73-240z/ Share on other sites
siteunseen Posted September 19, 2020 Share #2 Posted September 19, 2020 (edited) That is period correct. Just tacky. Great looking car though. I'd leave it if it was mine. There's some interior colors in there somewhere. http://zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/index.html https://zhome.com/History/colors.html Looks like butterscotch with cloth inserts. I've read that was popular in the hot/sunny states. gwri8 Posted September 19, 2020 Share #5 Posted September 19, 2020 There was some discussion a while back on this forum about seat inserts like that and it was summized that in hotter climate areas, like Arizona, it was not uncommon for dealers to do the seat treatments like that to new cars. It seems that it was easier to sell a car that didn't fry a customers a ss with vinyl in the Summer months. It does look like cut pile carpeting though.? 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/64473-interior-73-240z/#findComment-606242 Share on other sites

Somebody put a lot of effort into that interior. I thought I could deal with it until I saw the e-brake boot. Then I decided that I couldn't. Haha!! The rest of the car (other than the choice of interior) looks great! So what are the two switches under the aftermarket console cover? Yarb Posted September 20, 2020 Share #7 Posted September 20, 2020 CO, those look like the electric mirrors off of a ZX and the joy stick controls. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/64473-interior-73-240z/#findComment-606255 Share on other sites
Racer X Posted September 20, 2020 Share #8 Posted September 20, 2020 I like everything but the e-brake boot. That should be made with some nice leather, along with a matching shifter boot. The car looks sweet too, especially the floor. Makes me want a frosty mug of root beer. 87mj Posted September 20, 2020 Share #9 Posted September 20, 2020 eek. That is tacky. And unfortunately, period correct. If you are taking votes, its got to go. What were they thinking? Nice car though. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/64473-interior-73-240z/#findComment-606263 Share on other sites
